2nd Semester Week 11

It is the Easter break but managed to get into my studio twice this week and also managed to get the text and word play on my blocks. I had a great few days just experimenting with light and camera work, although my eyes were worse for wear after the event.

The idea behind the pieces is that they were meant to represent the pillars of society the ambiguity of being crystal clear, transparent and multi faceted. The text plays a strong part in these pieces as it represents the levels of social class within a plastic polished society... the pillars are there for all to see and the words and social scenes set but what does the viewer see??
My camera work probably needs more attention and the lighting may need to be played with, but all in all I am very happy with my weeks work..

This week I have also managed to get the professional practice presentation on office and that may need a little tweaking too but it gives the run down of my year of professional practice in short. I have just got to talk quick and squeeze it all into 10 minutes ahahha.

I hope for the bank holiday to get some well needed spring cleaning done so that I can get into my studio at home and actually find things that have been sucked into the Tardis like room, also weather permitting a spot of gardening is well over due and my face needs some colour too.

I have also been in contact with one of my favourite artists Liliane Lijn whom I e-mailed in connection with my dissertation plans. She is so humble a person and very helpful, Liliane sent me some feedback on her thoughts of using text within her art work and some reasoning behind it.

Well it is ciao for now as it is Easter after all and the chocolate won't eat itself ahahha. nom nom nom!
