Week 6

Reading reading reading, that is what I seem to have done this week. But as they say 'no harm ever came from reading a good book'.
I have started recording some sounds to manipulate and seem to have found a great little space to play them in.
I am waiting for a calm night without much wind so that I can make a few videos outside using fire as the source.
Catching up with my professional practice write up and started recording all my new ideas for the films and sound.
Also this week I decided to make some paper to get some different results in the print room. It is so easy to make once you have all the right gear. I'm just waiting for that to dry and then I shall be using it to Hopefully get some great embossing results from my collagraph plates.

The highlight of the week for me was a visit to 2021 in Scunthorpe, where the artist Martin Griffiths gave us a talk about his work over the last 30 yrs and how he got to be making the beautiful contemporary sculptures that he makes today. The talk was most enlightening and a lot of what he said really hit home. The 2021 gallery space is a beautiful area for art to be exhibited and Martin's sculptures looked wonderful under the sunlight pouring through the stained glass windows. These sculptures are spiritual to Martin and I can understand why, they have a sublime quality that by being there and standing by them one can only really appreciate to their full extent. The sculptures also had vibes to them and the first one I stood in started to pull me backwards and the last one I saw a red/orange light around my neck and face. I did not get much sensation from the other 5 however. These structures are said to represent the chakras and visitors have told of their experiences whilst standing under them.
