Week 13

Week 13, unlucky for some as they say, well it was for me. I managed to finally get the college lurg which stopped productivity for a few days but managed to get in college for 3 of the days.

The final weeks huge group assessment has been cancelled so the gallery space does not need to be set up for my installation, the problem is I have less space to work with in my studio. I have been trying to make a fireplace to show the films in and try to get it set up so that viewers can sit within the space and be part of what is happening. The idea is to sit around the fire like people used to years ago and I wanted people to experience this effect. I had a temporary wall placed in my studio to add further to the effect and to close the room off more. I was intending to have a flat screen monitor in the fire surround and this was going to take place of the actual fireplace, the films were going to be played on this. The flat screen monitor went out the window and I was left with an old portable t.v. the plans for my installation are thwarted but its a problem I will try to resolve over the weekend.

My prints have been sorted and I have chosen the ones that I feel are my strongest pieces and arranged them in a A1 portfolio case for the presentation and marking weeks. I will be popping over to Utterby this morning to get my sound and prints that have been exhibited there, these will be some other pieces added to my studio when i get in next week.

I handed my 2000 word essay draft in also and i am just awaiting my 1 to 1 to see if I am on the right path of righteousness ahaha, we shall see on Wednesday.... 

Now for today i am waiting for the ice to melt so I can drive to Utterby to pick my gear up and then off to Sheffield to my see my son for his 21st birthday and all the rest of the Hughes clan too. Wish me luck on my final week i'm going to probably need it....
