week 3

Well into the semester now and settling in a bit better. It's all go you know. I have managed to get into print this week and experiment with some brilliant collagraph plates and the results were great some of the pics will be posted soon. i have also been researching some smashing artists and looking at their work. this week I've been looking at James Turrell and his fantastic work achieved with lights and projection, something I am really interested in, but more on that later in the year.

As you may know the Treasures in or Midst exhibition is next weekend and its a mad rush this week to get the art organised and ready. The local school is also involved and the children are creating some interesting pieces of art of their own to be displayed in the church. There will also be offerings for the harvest festival paintings, prints, sound, contemporary sculpture and ceramics as well as the lovely traditional and modern flower displays created by the Caister & District Flower Club.

One of my fellow artists and myself have been making little nic-nac hangings and bookmarks to sell at the church to raise funds. We had made a nice little collection of them and mid week someone came to our studio and bought them all. This was brilliant of course but now its all hands on deck to make some more.. create & craft.

The nerves are kicking in and I suppose deep down it is just hoping that folk turn up and that everything goes according to plan. The time you think you have suddenly turns to none and it is upon us. So on that note i will sign off for this week and get on with the arty stuff.
